Seas It recipient goes to Newfoundland!

Through the newly established  Todd McGovern Legacy Grant, we were able to send one of our grant recipients to Newfoundland! What is the Todd McGovern Legacy Grant?  It’s larger in scope and funding than a traditional Seas It grant, and awarded once a year to one recipient. This recipient exemplifies Seas It co-founder, Todd McGovern’s, commitment to “seasing it” while fighting cancer  as well as his inspiration to other cancer fighters to persevere and live a little each day.

In 2013 the grant was awarded to Chad Peacock, an LA screenwriter who was (when awarded his grant) writing a screenplay about Canadian athlete and cancer activist Terry Fox and Chad’s own cancer journey.  Seas It didn’t intend to launch the grant until 2014 but when Chad came along we were so inspired by his story and message that we knew that he was the perfect candidate to receive the first Todd McGovern Legacy Grant!

You can read more about Chads’s story and the Newfoundland trip here. You can also follow his blog here, and we will definitely keep you updated on Chad’s movie!
